When is the best time to get my flowers to you?

Ideally, I receive your flowers 1-3 days after the wedding/event - the sooner, the better. Once your bouquet is filled with memories and well loved, I recommend you (or to designate someone) to get them in fresh water and out of direct sunlight as soon as possible. Flowers press best when they are fresh. There’s an option for pick up or drop off. If you’d like more information, please contact me.

How long does the pressing + framing process take?

Once your flowers are carefully deconstructed and layered in my presses, the drying process will take roughly 4-6 weeks (depending on the type of flower). Each layer is monitored on a weekly basis. Once every flower is completely dried and pressed, I will create 3 mock up designs for your feedback. Once the final layout is approved by you, the florals are secured on the UV protected glass and sealed into a locally made wooden frame. Depending on the busy season (May-August), you can expect your completed frame(s) anywhere from 3-6 months.

What kind of frames do you offer?

All wooden frames are locally made by Alix Genn, a talented woodworker based in Kelowna, BC. You have the option of maple (light) or walnut (dark) wood. Our most popular sizes are:

  • 5 x 5”

  • 10 x 10”

  • 16 x 16”

*Customizable frame size options available upon request

I’m interested in donating flowers from my wedding/event.
How does this work?

The Flower Ripple is a repurposed floral donation service offered to weddings and events. Some flowers can last up to a week after the event, so instead of composting the blooms right away, Bowie Mae allows your beautiful florals to ripple through our deserving community. Once all remaining florals are gathered, each stem is deconstructed, organized, trimmed, composted if wilted, and rearranged into fresh water and loaded up to be delivered and donated to local non profits.

Can I gift a framed pressed bouquet?

Yes! I’d be happy to create a meaningful keepsake to gift. Please reach out to me here and we’ll do our best to make it happen.

I love the idea of getting a bridal bouquet pressed and framed - but I’m already married and my bouquet is dried/long gone. Any recommendations?

Unfortunately, we are unable to press dried flowers. Only fresh flowers have the ability to be pressed. Although, there are many creative options to preserve meaningful moments through florals:

  • Recreating your wedding bouquet or anniversary florals with your local florist

  • Gifted bouquets from family/friends

  • Florals/Herbs from meaningful gardens

  • Kids foraging wildflowers on a hike or trip
